Perhaps this is an old issue in the world of philosophy, but it is one that I would like to frame principally in terms of a systems theory distinction between structure and organisation. That is to say, the organisation of a system is singular whilst the structure is interchangable, or in other words differing physical structures can achieve the same underlying organisation in much the same way that multiple techniques can be employed or multiple technologies used to achieve the same set of relationships between components in a social system.
